Alicia Montalvo

Spanish Content Manager

Bio

Hi there! I'm Alicia and I'm the Spanish Content Localisation Manager at TourScanner. Curious by nature, when I moved to a new country for the first time, my curiosity to discover everything around led me to keep exploring new places and cultures. With a bachelor's degree in Advertising and PR, and a master's degree in Translation, my professional career began to focus on the tourism and travel industry, where I've carried out different tasks such as content strategy creation, production and translation of texts, and public relations work. Nowadays, I'm more likely to be found in sunny places and exploring natural wonders. However, I can also be an urbanite and I'm always ready for a new travel experience!

Travel background

Although I've lived in different Spanish cities and visited places abroad, especially during my university years, I believe that my deepest immersion and passion for exploring new cultures started when I moved to the UK. After roughly 3 years, I moved to Brussels and then spent a few months in Dublin. Pursuing my dream of living in another continent, it was time to take off for Thailand, a country close to my heart. These experiences allowed me not only to discover new places but also immerse myself in the culture, which I love. Overall, I feel fortunate for the variety of destinations I've visited so far, and I plan to continue doing so!

Best travel experiences

First of all, I keep many beautiful memories from every place I've visited and lived in, but focusing on travel experiences, the 3-day Mekong Delta tour from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh was a truly fascinating trip in which I got to admire stunning landscapes and natural locations, try amazing local food, visit villages, meet locals and their traditions… Of course, the whole experience of living in Thailand was like no other! I may say that the sunset boat trip from Railay Beach to Ao Nang, in Krabi, was marvellous. As a sunset lover, I enjoyed many breathtaking sunsets in Thailand, but the ones in Koh Lanta left me speechless! In addition, after living in San Antonio, Eivissa, I truly recommend visiting the town to admire the sky at sunset!
