Travel Tips

  • There are two entrances for Top of the Rock: You can find one at the red carpet entrance on 50th Street. The other entrance is at the concourse of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. We suggest the entrance on 50th Street.
  • Consider the anticipated forecast. Top of the Rock Observatory remains open regardless; however, your views are not nearly as good when it is cloudy or foggy. Plan by checking the weather and anticipate afternoon storms by arriving earlier in the day.
  • Make sure you visit the mezzanine level exhibit beforehand. Rockefeller Center does not allow patrons to return to the mezzanine after reaching the observatory, so if you want to see both exhibits, make sure you see the mezzanine level first.
